An open letter to the bride posting on Facebook:

For the the love of everything holy – STOP.

Step away from the phone and live in the moment.  This is your wedding day, and I can tell you from experience – the one thing you will regret more than anything if something happens to your spouse – is that you were staring down at your phone when something special was happening for the both of you.

Your life is so much more than keeping your Facebook family up on what is going on real-time during your wedding day.

Live in the moment.  Be present.  Put down the phone and FEEL why you are there.  You are not there for Facebook likes or Instagram congrats.  You are there for the love of your spouse.  Because you want to be with them and no one else.

Act like it. Please. Trust me on this one.

{This is, of course, a hind sight is 20/20 thing, and I am still not always at my most present- but I’m working on it.  I’ve even gotten to the point that I leave my camera behind at big family events because I want to be fully aware of everything I am feeling. }
